We produced our very first 3D montage back in 2005 for the wedding of Jasper and Jehremee. Three years later, we find ourselves producing another 1st. This time for babies. Jasper and Jehremee have been blessed with their first bundle of joy, their daughter Sofia who just turned a year old.

Although this weighs a ton, the images that it delivers is purely awesome.
Now, what does this device really do ? And how does it make video emulate film ?
These adapters are called DOF ( depth of field ) adapters. Simply put, DOF is the distance in front of and beyond the subject that appears to be in focus. Video usually has deep DOF. It's the technology that makes it look "video-ish." Watch your favorite noontime show and you'll quickly notice that. Film on the other hand has shallow DOF. The reason for this is that films are viewed on huge screens and thus, the filmmaker has the power to control the direction to which he wants the audience to look. Usually, our eyes are drawn towards the focused objects.
This power to selectively focus on objects on the screen is the essence of visual storytelling. If the budget permits, then film is no object. But we mere mortals cannot afford a full 35mm film production. So this may be the closest we can emulate film.
So what does this DOF adapter do ? First, it uses a 35mm film lens which projects an image on a ground glass inside the adapter. The video camera then focuses on that ground glass. The DOF is controlled by varying the opening of the 35mm lens.
In a way, this whole technology overrides all auto modes. So, it's manual focus and exposure all the way. For many, that's a turn off, but for the filmmaker who wants control over his equipment and creativity, this is God sent.

I am deeply honored to be chosen once again to be a featured speaker. Undeniably, WEVA has been instrumental in IMACRON's growth not only in the Philippines but in the US as well. And we can never thank WEVA enough for giving us this rare opportunity.
My flight was a long 20 hour journey from Manila with 2 stop overs in Narita and LAX. I was just som pooped out when I arrived in Vegas. Unlike August where the temp rises to 120F, the weather now is cool, bordering to chilly at nights.
My seminar talk centered on Producing Hi-Value Creative Videos. I showcased IMACRON's best works from the 90s to the present, together with concept development and business principles.
Nothing compares to the joy of being and learning from the masters on the other side of the world.

I was hoping to fly in to Florida but this month has been terribly busy. I will upload the winning pieces as soon as I get back to Manila. I am currently in Las Vegas for the WEVA winter convention in which this Pinoy is one of the featured speakers.

I am lost for words for this onsite video. I just have a fondness for anything Italian --- cars, shoes, clothes. Coming from a nation of sweet spaghetti, macaroni swimming in mayo and "everything on it" pizza, I've always had the fascination for the genuine Italian experience.
We have been fortunate to film the wedding of Mauro ( italian ) and Agnes ( filipina ). Even with the language barrier, we had lotsa fun doing all the scenes. Kudos to all the friends who gamely participated. Imagine these Italians, who come from the land of Ferraris, riding a jeepney to Church.
This onsite is a mix of humor and tender moments. And what fitting music to accompany this than the soundtrack from the cheesiest movie of all time.... Cinema Paradiso.
So this is our year end video, dedicated to all those who never get tired of falling in love.
